24/7 Professional Chimney Flashing Services for Houston Homes

Best Chimney Flashing in Houston | Protect the Roof-to-Chimney Connection

Water stains near the fireplace, leaks after rain, or moisture around the chimney often point to a problem where the roof meets the chimney. United Home Services provides professional Chimney Flashing Houston homeowners trust to inspect, repair, replace, and install flashing systems that help protect against water intrusion.

When Water Gets Around the Chimney, Flashing May Be the Problem

The area where a chimney passes through the roof is one of the most vulnerable points for water intrusion. Flashing is designed to help direct water away from the roof-to-chimney junction and reduce the risk of leaks.

Over time, flashing can deteriorate, pull away from the masonry, develop gaps, or suffer damage from weather exposure. However, not every chimney leak is caused by flashing. Problems with the chimney crown, masonry, cap, or other components can produce similar symptoms and may require chimney leak repair services.

That’s why our Chimney Flashing in Houston service starts with identifying the actual source of the problem before recommending repairs.

Understanding Chimney Flashing Components

A chimney flashing system typically includes several components working together to help manage water around the chimney.
Step flashing is installed where the roof meets the sides of the chimney. Multiple sections work together to direct water away from vulnerable areas.
Counter flashing is integrated into the chimney masonry and helps protect the upper edge of the flashing system.

Base flashing helps protect the lower section of the roof-to-chimney connection where water runoff is often concentrated.

Because these components function together, homeowners using chimney services in Hockley should know that damage to one section can affect the performance of the entire flashing system.

Chimney Flashing, Chimney Crowns & Waterproofing: What's the Difference?

Many homeowners assume all chimney water problems have the same solution, but different components serve different purposes.
Flashing protects the connection between the roof and chimney.
The chimney crown protects the top of the masonry structure from water penetration.
Waterproofing treatments help reduce moisture absorption through suitable masonry surfaces, but are not intended to replace damaged flashing or repair active leaks. If we discover that your leak originates elsewhere, we’ll explain our findings and recommend the appropriate service.

Beware of United Home Service. Scammers. I had 3 A/C companies and air purification company and 4 ductwork companies look at my system this last month. One A/C company was just an annual check on my system. All was good. I am looking for quotes for installing air vents and anything that may help with my upstairs, as we keep our doors closed all the time. I was told my system would be more efficient with return vents in the room. As I had never heard this before, I was getting quotes. As I was getting quotes, I was learning more as well as finding out how much each would charge. They were all about the same. United Home Service came and like all the others wanted to look in my attic. He was up there so long I went up to see what he was doing. I told him I was not having issues just trying to improve my efficiency. Well, Ron came up with all these other problems. I asked him why all the other companies never came up with this problem. And he said the work that was done was wrong. But after all these other companies my system worked. Now it doesn't. They will not address the issue and tell me to call my home warrenty service and pay to fix what they caused.
